In 1988, in response to market demand, Dr. Guthrie developed our first tension shading system (TESS) or automated shade for operating retractable fabric sun screens on horizontal and sloping glazing, found particularly on glass atria which have become popular features on many commercial buildings. This was the first single motor, single roller tension blind system using a conventional tubular motor and remains the core of the product range today.
With continuous product development since then, we can now offer a comprehensive range of TESS systems to suit both internal and external applications from the smallest sun room to the largest public building. There is a wide range of fabrics available, suited to the systems, which can meet both the aesthetic requirements and the technical performance criteria of the specifier.
Complex shaped glass buildings provide many challenges, not just in the shape of the shading systems demanded and the plane of operation but also in the control requirements. To meet these requirements we have developed the PILOT pc control system which can provide accurate control of the shading system, particularly where glare is concerned.
Our expertise is shared with a network of distributors who ensure that TESS technology can be found around the globe. Wherever you are, we have a solution that can meet your requirements and our export experience means we can deliver to your door, packed specially to ensure it reaches you and your customers in perfect condition.
